P1 - Sealant

This is an Excellent Pond Paint, which unlike most is Water-Based .. that means, of course, that you can actually wash the Brushes or Rollers and other equipment used, under the Tap .... which is a great step forward ... and is a labour saving product as well as a money saving product .. It has excellent covering capabilities and we can recommend this without any reservation for customers wishing to paint their ponds rather that going to the expense of Fibre Glass .. This 'P1' is available in a variety of colours the most popular one's are Clear, British Racing Green, Black & Blue of course if these colours are not what you require you can always e-mail us at tradesales@pond-paint.co.uk with your specified colour requirements and we will try to help as much as possible. P1 is available in 3 Sizes... 1ltr packs - 2.5ltr packs and 5ltr packs ... We say 'Packs' because that is how it comes and is mixed in a similar way to Epoxy products - mixing the hardener with the actual product chosen .. Please note all colours of P1 other than clear do require water to be added, it is once the whole mixing process is complete that you will have the full required amount you have ordered.

'P1' has great covering power and all that is needed is just two coats of either Clear or the Coloured. It covers at 1lt per 5 - 8 square mtrs on the first coat depending on porosity of your surface and will go up to 10sq mtrs on the second coat....... 

BONUS - Blanket weed finds it very hard to adhere to a P1 coated surface!!!!!!!!

The Advantages.

  P1 - It comes as a 'Two Pack' and it is a simple matter when you are ready to apply the dressing to the walls of the pond, to mix the two packs together to start the curing process ....  It is easy to apply and as it is a Water Based product is very easy to mix and use – this goes for all the products in the ‘P’ range the instructions are clear, concise and easy to follow, so as with all instructions as long as they are read fully and carefully before you start you will get the amazing finish that we have described……… Because it is Water Based .. this means that it may be applied to a damp (not running wet) surface unlike other pond sealants ...  and any spills etc, and it can happen, believe me, can simply be washed away .. Also those expensive Paint Brushes and paint rollers, can easily be washed out under the tap ... and not just thrown away…

But ofcourse why stop at the pond?

A word of warning.

We do not recommend that you split the packs, if you require 2ltrs to complete the pond (one coat on the first day and the second coat the following) then bye two separate litre pots. Please do not by a 2.5ltr pot and try to half it – the consistency will be wrong and you will not get the superb finish that we tell you, you can expect……….

P1 Pond Coating – The TECHNICAL Data

But one of the biggest reasons why our customers are choosing to use the P-1 as opposed to other brands .. is the fact that you only need to apply just TWO coats to obtain a super smooth finish .. and you can if you wish - now this is the big thing - apply one coat one day and the second coat the next day .. and if you really do want an even better finish .. then you can apply a third coat on the following day...

Because you only need to use two coats, this of course means that it is going to work out much cheaper for you to complete your pond ..  always worth consideration as these ponds can, and quite often do, cost an arm and a leg ...  we now have hundreds of satisfied customers who have been pleased to use this superb pond coating ...  buy with total confidence - you will be delighted with the final results...

How to work out how much you will need from the dimensions of your own pond .

• Take the base area - i.e. Length x Width in feet - write down that figure
• Take the Height of walls x Length of walls in feet - write down that figure
• Take the Height of walls x width of walls in feet - write down that figure - then add those 3 figures together to give you the total area in feet and then simply divide by 9 and that will give you the surface area in square yards which is slightly smaller than square metres - and so that figure will give you plenty to work with ..
• P1 - 1 ltr will give a coverage of a minimum of 5 square meters - but remember that you will need to apply two coats ... so what ever you work the square mtrs to be of your pond, you will need to double that to arrive at the final quantity required .. better to have more than too little and if you do have enough then add a third coat to give you a truly fantastic smooth finish.
